The following agenda items will be discussed:

  1. Call to order by mayor and announcement of quorum
    Call to order by planning & zoning committee & announcement of quorum
  2. Invocation & pledge
  3. Review, discuss and possible action on the following:
    1. Approval of Minutes of the Brock Commission August 20 and 27, 2018 Meetings
    2. Introduction of and Update from Planning and Zoning Committee on the comprehensive plan, development standards, and zoning.
    3. PUBLIC HEARING: Consider Ordinance adopting the initial Comprehensive Plan of the City of Brock as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Committee. (Brock City Commission)
    4. Discussion and possible action on enacting a zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations and thoroughfare plan.
    5. Discuss dates of Future Meetings and the November anniversary gathering
  4.  EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Commission reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the meeting to discuss any of the matters listed, as authorized by Tex. Gov’t. Code:
    Section 551.071, Consultation with Attorney
    To seek the advice of its attorney about pending or contemplated litigation, settlement offers, or any matter in which the duty of the attorney to the City Commission under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the Texas Open Meetings Act.

    The Commission may consider the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee, specifically the appointment of the vacancy of a City Commissioner and the possible appointment of a Planning and Zoning Commission.

    1. RECONVENE and Take Action if needed from Executive Session
      1. Consider Appointment of Replacement of a Commission Member to Fill the Unexpired Term of Vacant Commission Position.
      2. Consider establishing a Planning and Zoning Commission and appointing members
  5. CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
    Residents may address the Commission regarding an item that is not listed on the agenda. Residents must register on the sign-in sheet five (5) minutes before the start of the meeting. The comments are limited to three (3) minutes. Limited reply by the Commission is allowed under The Texas Open Meetings Act as follows: (a) If, at a meeting of a governmental body, a member of the public or of the governmental body inquires about a subject for which notice has not been given as required by this subchapter, the notice provisions of this subchapter do not apply to: (1) A statement of specific factual information given in response to the inquiry; or (2) A recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry; (b) Any deliberation of or decision about the subject of the inquiry shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting.
